Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa, Denarau Island has announced plans for a multi-million dollar refurbishment project, set to begin late November.

The renovations begin with the expansion of Waitui Beach Club, with plans to add 24 new beach cabanas, welcoming arrivals area, beachside cocktail bar and undercover dining space for up to 40 guests.

The guest rooms will be updated gradually throughout 2019, beginning with the luxury guestrooms between April – June. Superior and family guestrooms will be upgraded in the second half of 2019.

General manager Vincent Macquet said the final transformation aim to enhance the overall guest experience.

“We’re delighted to announce the highly anticipated rejuvenation of the resort, which already appeals to a loyal clientele and we are certain the transformation will attract a new market of discerning travellers looking for that next level of luxury, which is sure to draw more attention and visitation to Denarau Island,” he said.

The refurbishment will halt between 22 December and 13 January to ensure minimal disturbance to guests staying over the Christmas and New Year period.
